CareWorks’ ePharmacy provides an evidence-based and technology-enabled approach to PrEP and ART. Using a courier delivery solution, the ePharmacy meets the unique needs of high-risk individuals whilst reducing access barriers, and increasing retention in care. Our proven solution consistently achieves high rates of adherence and retention in care.

Contact Centre Excellence

Our clinical contact centre is the heart of our ePharmacy. Staffed by experienced case managers, nurses, and counsellors, it provides clients with proactive, ongoing support. Working in mother tongue, they provide peer– and nurse-based telephonic counselling that addresses challenges and barriers. Our outbound approach also operates outside of office hours in all South African languages, ensuring high rates of contactability.


Care System

The backbone of our operation is the Care System™, our proprietary patient management software. This centralised electronic database and rules engine securely stores all client information and facilitates data access for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. Disease management protocols and structured workflows optimise efficiency, guiding our comprehensive care approach.


Courier Pharmacy Service

Medication and testing kits are dispensed directly to the client, or to an external pick-up point. We track parcels throughout this stage. Once received, follow up calls are then made to all clients to provide support.


Proactive Tracing and Support

Our retention in care rates remain consistently high as, over and above our ongoing support services, we also initiate tracing support to defaulting clients.

CareWorks delivers a full demand creation process, from lead generation through field mobilisation and media campaigns, to contact center interventions for logistical and linkage support, consistently achieving high results.
